Some of the websites I used when I began my writing career are no longer around (RIP most Blogger sites), but here’s a handy list of current resources you might find helpful.
Publisher’s Weekly: https://www.publishersweekly.com/
PW Shelf Talker: http://blogs.publishersweekly.com/
PW Children’s Bookshelf Newsletter, Sign Up Here: https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/email-subscriptions/
Kristen Nelson: http://nelsonagency.com/pub-rants/
Nelson Literary Agency Newsletter, Sign Up here.
Agent Query: http://www.agentquery.com/
Pro Tip from Diana: Read the Acknowledgments page in books similar to yours, in your genre, and find the agent thanked by the author. Then search the agent to see if they’re actively seeking new clients.
Associations– There are MANY writers’ associations out there, I am currently a member of these. Many host forums for both published and unpublished writers trying to navigate the process:
Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators: http://www.scbwi.org
Mystery Writers of America: http://mysterywriters.org
International Thriller Writers: http://thrillerwriters.org
Romance Writers of America: https://www.rwa.org
